What a fantastic four days celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee.
It was our pleasure to host the artist workshop with the local schools of Mexborough.
Themed around the Queen’s Jubilee, the arts day was organised by Helen Watson at Fox Gallery, in collaboration with Philip Sheppard at the Literacy Lab and professional artist, Rosemary Firth.
The workshop was attended by two local Mexborough schools, Miss Emily Woodward and Mr Matthew Hedar Y5 from Windhill School and Miss Alex Johnson’s Y4/Y5 from New Pastures Primary School.
Both schools thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and the final result looked great.
Using a portrait of the Queen, the image was divided into 32 A4 sheets, each child worked on individual sections and at the end of the exercise their number was called out to create the large, collaged portrait.
What a fantastic collaboration with Fox Gallery and the Literacy Lab. We are looking forward to working together on future projects.
