Supplying Free Training to Mexborough
Mexborough Resource and Training Centre is located on the corner of Hampden Road/Dolcliffe Road in central Mexborough, easily accessible by car or public transport. Mexborough is in the catchment area for Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster, an often-overlooked fabulous central point for people wishing to access this area of South Yorkshire.
The resource centre was recently purchased by Peter Newman, a local businessman, who is also the owner of Mexborough Business Centre. Acquired in December 2015 Peter and his team have successfully built up its tenancy from 25% to 90% capacity, whilst securing an ongoing commitment to the restoration of this original Victorian building.
We are hoping to attract training companies looking for new venues in the South Yorkshire area. We will work alongside Mexborough Community Partnership, a social enterprise, who are already based at the Resource Centre in a bid to also attract more community/charity groups who require space and funding.
Working with Gem Compliance Training
This year at Mexborough Business Centre, we have established a great working relationship with Gem Compliance Training, a training provider who currently offers Safety and Compliance Training under one roof, all the fun, none of the hassle.
Gem Compliance Training offer paid courses and CSCS tests.
Training Courses at Mexborough Resource Centre
Our plan is to move these training courses from the Business Centre to the Resource Centre. We hope to expand these training opportunities by seeking partnerships with other training providers, in order to offer a wider variety of access to new skills and other avenues of education and self-improvement. Our vision is to make Mexborough resource centre a hub for training and a vital channel for education within the Community.
